Ponyboy Curtis

Ponyboy Curtis, the main character of the story and the neophyte of the Greasers, is a guy that loves to do some things that are different from what the Greasers like to do. He likes to read, go to movies and fun activities that teens like to do. Most of the time when he is bored he is usually reading or painting a picture. As time went on, he liked to do things with the Greasers. However, everything they did, he did not approve of because he is not the kind of guy that likes getting into trouble by the police. Then when he tries to get out of it he talks baloney. There were times where they always did things when they did something he went with it but he didn't really like it because he knew with all of his intelligence that someone was going to come and get them. If eluded, he knew that someone was going to come looking for them because they were missing. The thing was that when he did things alone because he didn’t want to get into a lot of trouble, the Socs would come and finds him and then hurt him because if the Socs ever saw a Greaser alone that meant that they were able to hurt the person, because there was no one around to help.
Ponyboy was one of the outsiders of the towns. With all of the other Outsiders, also known as the Greasers, he was the outsider of the group. The thing was, that whenever he got hurt, the rest of them where there for him, because he was the youngest one of the group. His oldest brother was always there to watch out for him, because all three of the Curtis boys where all out together and never really with their parents. A lot of the time he and his brothers were on their own and had to figure somethings out by themself. If anything happened to them the police or the Socs would be coming to find them and take them as the police would do, but on the other hand, the Socs would be trying to pick a fight with them. It was never best moments of their life if they were doing something. They were known as "white trash with greasy hair" and the Socs where "white trash with mustangs." They always had mean and hurtful names for each-other.
When Ponyboy and his brother Johny run away, they had killed someone. Johny didn't really approve of killing someone. Ponyboy didn't really like doing that because someone lost their life and they didn't get to live it out like others got to live theirs out. When the death happened, all of these thoughts probably  ran through his mind so he got really emotional and felt guilty for something that he did do. He probably thought of how many people would be mad about how he wouldn't be able to have his first wife, or even have a family. Some of his thoughts could have been, "all of his friends and family don't get to see him anymore," or "he could haunt me the rest of my life, because I hurt him." Lots of hearts where torn apart by that and Ponyboy just wanted to go hide from somewhere where no one would be able to find him.
Ponyboy and the rest of the Greasers where like one big happy family. The gang was something where it was just three brothers that had no parents and some friends to be with them while they don’t have a family either. They acted like they were brothers, they acted like they were just family and they always wanted to help each other no matter how good or how ugly it was looking. If one of them got into a fight with a Soc or got really hurt and had to get medical treatment, they where there to help no matter what happened. A part in the story, Ponyboy got really sick and couldn’t do anything like read his friends a book, because they aren't able to, or even tell them interesting stories. So the rest of the gang was able to help him out by doing a good part to help him get well.
This story may have some violence, some conflicts, or even some worse enough parts where you don't even want to keep reading, but it tells a story inside of a story. Friends are Friends, true friends are there when you need them without even asking, and family is another thing where you don't even need to be by them to have them know that you are in trouble and need their help. Ponyboy Curtis is one of those characters that learn that true friends are always going to be there and his brothers no matter what happens will always be on his side. He learned that no matter what happens, he's got true friends and family to help him no matter what happens to him.
