Journal 3/31

As I sit off to the side, afraid that I am going to get found. I'm worrying that my disguise is working good enough. People all around me are staring at me wherever i go. It's unfair that I'm stuck like this. My family has left me alone, because I was never what they wanted me to be. So as I sit here, all alone, my things that I didn't want to leave anywhere, I had to leave them behind. I'm a slave, that should be working and not running away. I have enough money to go find a new job, and actually have food for about three days. As I'm searching for a new job, I think I may have a few ideas. As someone though was walking down the road, a man, a stranger, noticed me, he walked up and wanted to talk to me.
"Hey, you over there, wait up!" he shouted at me.
"uuhhhh.. yeah?" I responded slowly.
"I've noticed that you are jobless, looks like you need a job?" Willingly said the man. Good thing that he hasn't brought anything up yet.
"Yeah. Why?" scared of whats going to happen.
"Well we need more people fighting in the civil war. Will you do it?"
I didn't know how to respond to that, so I just told him I'd think about it and asked him to meet up with me later.

Journal 3/30

What are my ideas for the writing of the historical fiction? Well an idea I have is that I would like to talk about how people lived during the civil war. They weren't happy when it was happening, because they were living where they were loosing family and friends that they were very close to. I don't know for sure if I want to do this, but it sounds like something that I would want to do. Otherwise if I don't do that, I would enjoy doing the events that were happening. There were a lot of things that were happening while the war was going on. That's another thing that I would like to do.

Journal 3/29

Something that people can get motivated about, is how they treat others. Some people put others before them and put them last, because they believe that helping others before themselves are very important. Something else to get motivated is before games. You can get excited and motivated for that so that you have energy to play at the game. Another thing that you are able to do, is how something that can easy, it will get you excited in so many ways that you are motivated to do something. For example you want do good in school this quarter, because we are motivated to go to six flags at the end of the year. We all want to go, but we have to good grades to be able to attend six flags. Things that you want to do, but you have to give something in return, is something that we all enjoy getting, but we all have to get motivated and do good in school.

Journal 3/28

Yes there are times when people should be able fight for something. Fights aren't suppose to be always violent because you can stand up for what you believe in. For example our class will stand up for what we believe in, which is our own seats back. We should be able to fight for what is important to us and how it is important for us. When we believe in something we should be able to say what we think is important because our opinions should count for everything we do. Everyone should be able to give their own opinion to everything because that's what's right.

Journal 3/25

Do I think everyone has a free will?
I don't think that everyone has a free will because if they are ruled by someone else like the government then they don't have as much freedom as they could. When they are ruled by the government then they don't have as much free will as they should as Americans or anyone else. I formed my opinion by realizing that people aren't able to do as many things as we can. As an observation, that is how it was focused on to my opinion about this.

If I were in control....

If I was in control of the school, some of the changes that I would make is that school would be fun. Not boring, because we don't want to sit in class all day and just learn. We want to do things like play games, or be able to talk to our friends whenever we want. Another change that I would want to make is that the lunches would be better. I would change something, where we would be able to go out to eat for lunch and not eat the school's food. Another change that I would want to make is have nap time. We are always complaining that we are always tired. We want a nap time to, because we are always coming to school dragging. Some of us don't even get a full five hours of sleep. I want these changes made, because I feel that is good when each person gets what they want to do and not sitting in a chair or desk all day, because they are trying to go to school. Some students believe that sitting in a chair or desk is good for them, but not for every other student. It depends if these changes would prepare the students for high school, because if they have a good attitude about school and keep their school work up, they wouldn't have a hard time. If the students take everything for granted, then they won't have a good time in the high school. If the changes are made so that each student can still prepare for high school, then it would be fine.

Journal for 3/23

Immigration
As a young child, you always want to be with your parents to be protected by them. In this case a 4 year old American citizen went to stay with her grandpa down in Guatemala for the winter. When she came back, the Washington airport wouldn't let her and her grandfather go through on the plane, because her grandfather was an illegal immigrant, as well as her parents. The littler girl and her little brother, age 3, are the only ones throughout their family that are legal in America. Her father had moved into America in 1996, because his family was very poor where he lived in Guatemala. It's not fair to the family that she has to be living somewhere away from her family and maybe never get to see them unless the family fights it off to win her back.

The family is very devastated that they have to go through this but it's what they have to do. If you were a parent and your child got separated from you, you wouldn't be to happy about what's going on. The young girl, age 4, isn't very happy that she has to live like this, because she's living far away from the people she loves. The only thing they can do at the time with the child is send her back home with her grandfather in Guatemala. The safest place would be with her grandfather, because if they decide to send her where she can easily get set up for adoption, they don't want that to happen to their little girl.
This is a quote coming straight from the father:
“This is very unfair because she is a citizen,” he said, “and she is a very little girl.”

Refection

In these discussions, it is helping us with our presentations so that we can keep the class going on a topic. It's good when the class is able to go onto one topic and keep a discussion going. I think we should be able to do this more often so that we can get our speaking skills in front of others better. When we did this, I feel like I'm getting better every time I do that. The problem is that people won't stop talking and we have to keep stopping and wait for them. It is not the best thing to do, but it is better than writing an essay. I'd rather do this than write an essay, as long as I can get better writing skills.

What happened?!?!

As I sit in my room thinking about what had happened on Friday, everything was a blur. Everyone was telling me that I was knocked out by a basketball because Amy, my best friend, was mad at me, so she decided to throw it at me. None of the teachers knew about to suspend her, but I wondered how I could be mad at her if I don't remember anything. AT ALL! People were also telling me about how then once I got up after I was knocked out that I was bleeding from my head. As I sat in my room thinking about what really did happen, my brain just shuts down. Nothing. Whatsoever. I don't understand why I can't remember and why I can't believe anyone because no one is telling me the truth.

Can Humans ever be equal??

Humans may not be different now, but if in my opinions, humans should be treated equal everywhere they go, but not all looking like an average person. They shouldn't have have the same personalities and not always think the same. It wouldn't be a fair would if they all acted the same. Everyone should be able to be different in their own way, but be treated the same. Humans should have a right to be different from others because if they are equal then someone can't do something fantastic, it can make others happy in a way that they can enjoy themselves. When they can enjoy themselves, that's when they realize that they like being different from other people around them. Equal isn't always the true answer for people when they are in need.
What would the world look like if we were all all equal? The world would be boring, un-exciting, and absolutely no fun. Humans should having different personalities in themselves so that people can tell them apart. Equal isn't how everyone should be treated, you want to be in a place where we can be welcomed by different people with different ways of living. You don't want the world to be boring and nothing to do if everyone thought the same and never could say anything that they want to say for their own opinion.

Super-Human Powers

If I was able to have any Super-Human Powers, it would be that I could control people and the way I want them to be treated when I decide to have them under my ruling. Having this would make things all my way and it would be that way so that I can get everything my way. That would be something that I would decide to do when I am able to know how to do it. I feel that when someone is under my power and I always know what they are thinking and what they are going to do.

Respect

As you think of respect what comes to mind? Being nice to others, or being mean to others and expecting them to be nice back to you. Well if you think that you can be mean to them and expect them to be nice back, well that's in your dreams. Be nice to those that you want them to respect back to you. Those that think of you first are those that are the nice ones and those that can give you things are the nice ones, but if you can't be courteous to them, well that's in your dreams if you want to treat them rudely.
